Mortgage settlement costs vary greatly by lender. Settlement costs will show you how expensive it is to get your mortgage - they usually comprise only non-recurring costs, except for the escrow funds required by the lender. However, lender settlement costs are incomparable - lenders have different in-house policies and strategies in declaring home loan closing costs.

Common Mortgage Settlement Costs

If you are shopping with a mortgage broker, make sure you are using an upfront mortgage broker (UMB). They will pass wholesale lender mortgage settlement fees and will charge a broker's fee.
